OFF SEASON TIP-UP STORAGE

Always store your Polar “underwater” style tip-ups horizontally in a cool, dry area during the off season. 

If stored vertically in warm temperatures, the cold weather protection lubricant can separate, and under extreme heat, may even break down or leak slightly, resulting tiny air pockets within the tube that can allow moisture to condensate inside the mechanism, leading to reduced performance in cold weather.

The best way to store your units off season is horizontally within a zippered case, or better yet, a Styrofoam or plastic cooler, in a cool basement.
